Disney’s Dance Star Mickey
If your toddler was given a choice when shopping, he would most likely pick out the Disney Dance Star Mickey. When you combine a favorite character such as Mickey Mouse, and combine it with music and interaction, there’s no question kids will want to have it.
The doll itself weighs in at 3.5 lbs, is 16 inches tall, and is recommended for children 2 and up.
Decked out in a monogrammed sweater, Mickey not only has his big, round black ears, the inviting Mickey grin, but also his signature yellow shoes. When this was released back at the beginning of October at Toys R Us, the kids went wild for it. Mickey will require 6 AA batteries to help him sing and dance his way through 6 different songs, and some stores include the batteries, but you should check and make sure you have more on hand. Mickey will walk and talk with your child as well as dance, and he’s even got a program in him to do the Moonwalk.
Along with his programming are two interactive games he can play with your child. The only downside with this toy apart from the fact it will be difficult to clean is the fact it is going to be so popular this Christmas. Along with this popularity will be the availability factor, and there can be a lot of kids and parents disappointed if they can’t get one.
In fact you can almost predict the number of parents who will end up spending a fortune trying to secure a Dance Star doll on EBay or via Craigslist when Amazon, Toys R Us and the rest run out of stock. You remember how hard it was when Tickle Me Elmo came out, well, kids are going to want to see Disney Dance Star Mickey just as bad. But kids aren’t going to be the only ones wanting these. This is a “must-have” for anyone that has been collecting Mickey Mouse dolls.
What makes this one so special? Mickey gives instructions on how to dance the Mambo shouting out hold your hands up and here we go as he moves to the beat. He then not only sings along but he dances at the same time.
If you want a little “slow-down” time, you might like to play the Mickey Says game. If you have ever played Simon says you get the picture but Mickey is much cuter.
Changing songs is also easy, all you have to do is press his hand. In addition the Mambo, Moon dance and Mickey says, Disney Dance Star Mickey also does a little bit of Disco with his “Go Mickey” techno moves. For those “Rap” fans, Mickey can also rap along to his name and even do some awesome freeze moves.
Not only will kids be giggling with Mickey this Christmas, but you’ll be sure to have some adults who won’t be able to keep their feet from tapping along with him also.
